Abstract

Consecrated in the literary plane, part of the work by Michoacán writer José Rubén Romero, especially his famous novel La vida inútil de Pito Pérez, inspired the production of a series of semi-successful films throughout the so-called “Golden Age in Mexican cinema”. The case is ideal to gain insight into the various meanings that have been established between the literary text and the cinematic text, while showing us how an artistic concept motivated the most important film industry in the Spanish-speaking world to try out various forms of representation of characters and atmospheres on the screen.
