Dossier: Historical studies on witches, sorceresses and secret societies

Abstract

In the 21st century, the stigma of witchcraft still serves to violate, torture and exterminate people, mostly women. This reality highlights the relevance of the topic of this dossier on the history of witchcraft that I present to the kind reader. It is a collective effort to understand the phenomenon of witchcraft from a historical-anthropological perspective that helps to clarify, even partially, contemporary practices such as those described above and a universe of questions about the world of witchcraft.
